Moustache Mondays: Ron Burgundy

  • Share

“I’m a man who discovered the wheel and built the Eiffel Tower out of metal and brawn. That’s what kind of man I am.”

ron_burgundy

Check out that sweet ’stache.  While Ron Burgundy may be a fictional character(but the joy he brings is REAL), the glory of that moustache Will Ferrell sported for the film was bona fide, baby.  Glorious.

For the next 24 hours, I pronounce the handlebar moustache to be renamed: The Ron Burgundy.

Why?  Because it’s Moustache Monday, and it’s time to splash on the Sex Panther and take on the world, Arbitrage men.

You stay classy.

Dee & Ricky Collaboration

  • Share

dee and ricky

Hailing from Staten Island, Dimietrus and Ricky Jackson are the 21-year-old twin brothers behind their eponymous accessories line Dee and Ricky.

Completely self-taught, they picked up their design smarts watching their grandma behind her sewing machine and began customizing their own pieces in the 9th grade.  The brothers created a hugely popular collection of Lego accessories, and while attending a function in the Hamptons in the summer of 2007 were spotted wearing the new designs by stylist Jason Preston.

Preston in turn introduced them to designer Marc Jacobs, and a meeting at MJ HQ was quickly scheduled. Within days Dee and Ricky were hard at work designing a full range of Lego accessories for the Marc by Marc Jacobs spring ’08.

Their signature belts and heart-shaped brooches are currently sold in boutiques across the globe including Colette in Paris and Kid Robot in New York and have been worn by an endless list of high-profile celebrities, the likes of Kanye West, Beyonce, Nigo, MIA, Zoe Kravitz and the Jonas Brothers.

Movember Collaboration

Arbitrage has partnered with Movember since their launch in the United States in 2007.  Every year, Arbitrage designs limited edition accessories for the charity which supports prostate cancer.

Movember cofounder, Adam Garone, worked with Arbitrage designer, Alan Chan to create a collection of four spectacular links which are manufactured and rhodium finished in the jewelry district of New  York City.  These fun cuff links would surely add a dash of edge to your wardrobe.

“The Links to a Cure” – Fashion Alert

GENTLEMEN, GET READY to put away your razors and barrel cuff shirts…Movember will soon be upon us. The Australian-based charity that supports the fight against prostate cancer encourages men around the world to grow a mustache for the month of November. Each participant gets sponsored by friends, and the money raised goes to the Prostate Cancer Foundation. If you’re too chicken to look like Nietzsche at the Thanksgiving table, you can also support the effort by buying a set of limited-edition Movember cuff links. From the sale of each pair of shiny, mustache-shaped cuff links ($65, arbitrage.com), $20 goes directly to the cause.
